First contact
A dating app without likes: first contact, reinvented
Naughty Singles is a dating app without likes. There's no heart to tap, no super like and no pile of anonymous admirers. To reach someone, you choose ten of your own statements and send them, together with your photo. The other person answers them with ME TOO, DON'T CARE or NOT ME, and the moment they answer, it's a match.
That's the whole idea of first contact: the first thing someone receives from you isn't a verdict on their face or an empty “hi,” but ten honest glimpses of who you are. And if they don't answer, nothing breaks. Silence isn't rejection, and nobody on the app collects rejections.

Why we removed the like
A like is cheap. It takes half a second, says almost nothing and usually rewards a single photo. On most apps, likes pile up on one side and silence piles up on the other, and both leave people feeling like products on a shelf. Even when two likes meet, the conversation often starts from zero with a “hi” that goes nowhere.
On Naughty Singles, by the time you can reach out to someone you already know why you might fit: they're in your top because your Match DNA lines up, with a compatibility percentage and a reason why you'd connect. It would be strange to throw all that away and just tap a heart. So instead of a like, you send a small piece of yourself, and you ask for a small piece of them in return.

How first contact works on a dating app without likes
Five steps, from your top to a match. No guessing, no games of who writes first.
- 01
Pick someone from your top
Your top shows the real people most compatible with you, with a percentage, a reading per level and “why you'd connect.” Their photo is still blurred. You decide who you'd like to reach based on affinity, not on a face.
- 02
Choose ten of your own statements
You select 10 statements from your own game: 5 LIGHT, 3 SPICY, 1 HOT and 1 EXTREME, always only from levels the other person plays. Nobody ever receives a card from a level they didn't choose.
- 03
Send them with your photo
Your statements travel with your clear photo. That's the only way to reach someone: you show yourself first. The people who receive your questions are among the few who ever see your photo unblurred.
- 04
They answer, card by card
The other person reads your statements and answers each one with ME TOO, DON'T CARE or NOT ME, exactly like in the game. Each answer tells you something real about where your worlds meet.
- 05
An answer is a match
If they answer, you have a match. No second step, no waiting for a like back. From there you move on to the In Sync chat, where you play together before the free chat opens.
What ten statements can say about you
Here's the kind of mix someone might send. Each one is a real statement from the app, and each answer to it is a tiny conversation.
I'd take an improvised trip over a rigid itinerary any day.
I always adopt, never shop.
I don't need a drink to loosen up on a date.
I'd rather have an honest talk than a spectacular but empty plan.
Awkward pauses on a date are my favorite part.
I'd rather break the ice face to face than with a text.
Why no likes feels better on both sides
No empty “hi”
The first thing the other person receives is content: ten statements that say how you live, love and flirt. It's much easier to answer something real than to invent a clever opener. For more on this, see what to say instead of hi.
Silence isn't rejection
If someone doesn't answer, you don't get a “no,” a notification or a counter of refusals. Maybe they haven't opened the app, maybe the timing is wrong. Nobody collects rejections, which makes it far easier to reach out again.
Answering means something
Because answering is the match, nobody matches by accident while scrolling. Each match is a small, deliberate yes to engaging with someone's words, not just their photo.
Every level, with respect
The mix of statements follows the intensity levels you both play. If the other person only plays LIGHT and SPICY, that's all they'll ever get from you. Nothing crosses a line they didn't open.
Likes versus first contact
| Apps built on likes | First contact on Naughty Singles |
|---|---|
| You react to a photo | You react to ten statements about a real life |
| A like says “you look nice” | Ten statements say “this is me, how about you?” |
| Matches you forget you made | Every match is someone who chose to answer |
| Unanswered likes feel like a no | Silence isn't rejection; nobody collects no's |
| The chat starts with an empty “hi” | The conversation starts with real answers |
How to choose your ten statements
There's no perfect combination, but a few habits help. Pick statements that are genuinely you, even the less glamorous ones: the fact that you can't sleep in a messy room is far more interesting than a vague “I love to laugh.” Mix practical things with things that reveal your personality, so the other person gets a sense of both your days and your nights.
Think of each statement as a question in disguise. When you send “I always adopt, never shop,” you're really asking where they stand on animals. The answers you get back, whether ME TOO, DON'T CARE or NOT ME, become the first topics you'll share.
And remember that no answer is a wrong answer. A NOT ME isn't a failure; it's information. That spirit is at the heart of the whole app, and it's why people who dread the classic swipe often find dating without fear of rejection finally makes sense. The like doesn't exist. Answering is the match.
Frequently asked questions
Is there really no like button on Naughty Singles?
Really. Naughty Singles is a dating app without likes. To reach someone from your top, you send them ten of your own statements with your photo. If they answer them with ME TOO, DON'T CARE or NOT ME, it's a match. There's no heart, no super like and no list of people who “liked” you waiting to be judged.
What happens if someone doesn't answer my statements?
Nothing bad. Silence isn't rejection: you don't get a “no” or a notification that someone passed on you. They may simply not have opened the app yet. Meanwhile you can keep playing rounds, which refines your Match DNA and your top, and reach out to other people who fit you.
Who sees my clear photo when I send first contact?
The person you send your statements to. First contact always travels with your photo, because nobody looks without being seen. Apart from the people who receive your questions and your match, everyone else only sees a blurred version of your photo, which can't be un-blurred because that detail isn't in the file.
Why ten statements and not just one message?
Because ten statements across levels give a real, balanced picture: five from everyday life, three from flirting and chemistry, one from desire and one from intensity, always only from levels the other person plays. That mix says much more than any opening line, and answering it takes seconds instead of the pressure of writing something clever.
Does it cost anything to send or answer first contact?
Your first three sends are free, and answering someone's statements is always free. There may be optional extras in the future, such as more sends, but you will never pay to unlock a person. Seeing your top, the In Sync game and the free chat are free too.
