After the match
In Sync: the dating app chat you earn
On Naughty Singles, a match doesn't open an empty chat window. It opens a game. In Sync is the dating app chat you earn together: one of you picks a question and answers it, the other answers blind with YES, NO or MAYBE, and both answers are revealed at the same time. Matching adds to your sync; not matching costs nothing.
When you've filled the sync across the levels you share, the free chat unlocks. By then you're not strangers staring at a blinking cursor. You've already laughed at a few coincidences, discovered a few differences and collected more than enough to talk about.

Why a chat you earn works better than a chat you get
Anyone who has used dating apps knows the pattern. You match, someone sends “hi,” someone answers “hi, how are you,” and the conversation turns into a polite job interview until one of you quietly disappears. It's not that people are boring. It's that an open text box, with no shared context, puts all the pressure on whoever types first.
In Sync takes that pressure away. Instead of asking you to be witty on command, it gives you something to do together. Each round is quick, a little playful and surprisingly revealing. And because the free chat has to be earned, both people arrive at it having shown up, which is a small but meaningful signal that the interest is mutual.
It also fits the order the whole app follows: compatibility first, conversation next, face last. By the time you reach In Sync you've already passed through your Match DNA and a first contact without likes. In Sync is the bridge between knowing you fit on paper and actually talking.

How the In Sync chat works, turn by turn
Each turn has the same simple rhythm. You take turns choosing, so both of you lead and both of you guess.
- 01
One of you picks a question
Whoever's turn it is chooses a question and answers it first. Your answer stays hidden, so the other person can't simply copy it or tailor theirs to please you.
- 02
The other answers blind
The other person answers the same question without seeing yours: YES, NO or MAYBE. MAYBE is a real answer, not a dodge; sometimes “it depends” is the most honest thing you can say.
- 03
You reveal together
Both answers flip at the same moment. That shared reveal is the fun part: the little thrill of seeing whether you landed on the same side, and the curiosity when you didn't.
- 04
Matching adds to your sync
When your answers match, your sync grows. When they don't, nothing is taken away. There's no penalty and no score to lose, because a difference is also something worth knowing.
- 05
Fill the sync, open the free chat
Once you've filled the sync for the levels you both play, the free chat unlocks. From then on you can write whatever you like, with a shared history already behind you.
The rules that make In Sync feel good
In Sync is designed so that nobody plays defensively. These principles are why.
Blind means honest
Because the other person answers without seeing your choice, there's no incentive to say what they think you want to hear. What you learn from each reveal is real, which is exactly what makes the eventual chat worth having.
No punishment, ever
Not matching doesn't cost points, doesn't lower anything and doesn't end the game. As the app puts it, that's also knowing something. Differences are part of every good connection.
Only the levels you share
In Sync follows the same golden rule as the rest of the app. You only play the intensity levels both of you chose, so neither of you ever gets a question from a level you didn't open.
Taking turns
Both people choose questions and both people answer blind. Nobody is the interviewer and nobody is the interviewee. The balance is built into the game from the very first turn.
The usual chat versus a chat you earn
| A regular dating app chat | In Sync on Naughty Singles |
|---|---|
| Opens instantly, often to silence | Opens with a game you both play |
| Whoever types first carries the pressure | You take turns choosing questions |
| Answers shaped to impress | Blind answers, revealed together |
| A difference can feel like a dead end | Not matching costs nothing and teaches something |
| Interest is hard to read | Earning the free chat shows it's mutual |
When the free chat opens
The moment the free chat unlocks feels different from a normal match. You already have a list of things you agreed on, a few things you didn't and a sense of each other's humor. The first message almost writes itself: ask about the MAYBE that surprised you, or the question where you both said YES a little too fast.
If you still like having a spark to start with, our guide to dating app conversation starters has plenty of ideas, and people who can't stand small talk usually feel at home with dating without small talk. When the conversation naturally turns into plans, you'll find inspiration in our first date ideas.
The In Sync game, the match and the free chat are all free. Nobody pays to unlock a person or a conversation. To see In Sync in context, from the first card to the first message, read how the app works.
Not matching is also knowing something.
Frequently asked questions
What is In Sync on Naughty Singles?
In Sync is the game you play after a match, before the free chat opens. One person picks a question and answers it, the other answers blind with YES, NO or MAYBE, and both answers are revealed together. Matching answers fill your sync. When you've filled it for the levels you share, the free chat unlocks for both of you.
Why can't I chat freely right after a match?
Because an empty chat window rarely leads anywhere. In Sync gives you something to do together, so the conversation starts from real answers instead of a “hi.” Earning the free chat also shows that both of you are genuinely interested. And every round gives you new things to talk about.
What happens if our answers don't match?
Nothing bad. Not matching doesn't take points away, doesn't lower your compatibility and doesn't end the game. It simply means you learned a difference, which is useful. Only matching answers add to your sync, so you keep playing until you've filled it for the levels you both chose.
Will I get In Sync questions from levels I didn't choose?
No. In Sync follows the same rule as the rest of Naughty Singles: you only play the levels both of you activated. If one of you plays up to SPICY and the other up to HOT, your In Sync questions stay within LIGHT and SPICY. Nobody ever receives a question from a level they didn't open.
Is the In Sync chat free?
Yes. The In Sync game and the free chat it unlocks are free, just like downloading the app, playing the cards, seeing your top and answering first contacts. Optional extras may arrive in the future, but you will never have to pay to unlock a person or a conversation.
