How romantic are you? Take the quiz
How romantic are you, really? Not in theory, but on a Tuesday night, in a crowded street, on a first date that's going well. This quiz uses eleven cards to read your romantic style across four categories: romance itself, public affection, the way you like to date and your appetite for shared adventure.
There's no romantic scale from zero to hero here. Quiet romantics and grand-gesture romantics are both romantics. The point is to know which one you are, so you can recognize someone whose style fits yours.

What this romance quiz measures
Romance shows up in different places for different people. For some it's the handwritten note; for others it's holding hands in public, or a date that runs so long nobody checks the time. The quiz mixes two LIGHT categories, romance and travel and adventure, with two from SPICY, public affection and dating style. That mix matters: how romantic you are isn't only about feelings, it's about how you express them and where.
Four ways romance shows up
Romance
Tenderness, attention to detail, what love looks like in the ordinary days. Read more on romantic compatibility.
Public affection
Holding hands, a kiss hello, an arm around the shoulder. Some love it, some keep it private. Explore public displays of affection.
Dating style
Long, immersive dates or short, easy ones; surprise plans or familiar places. See dating style compatibility.
Travel and adventure
For many romantics, the most memorable moments happen far from home, on a trip nobody fully planned.
How to read your romantic style
Mostly ME TOO in a category means that form of romance is central to you: without it, something feels missing. Mostly NOT ME means you express love in other ways, which is just as romantic, only different. A mix, or DON'T CARE, means you're adaptable and can enjoy a partner's style without needing to match it exactly.
Keep in mind that compatible isn't identical. A person who loves public affection can be very happy with someone more reserved, as long as both understand what the gesture means. What causes friction is usually not the difference, but not knowing about it. If one of you reads a missing hand-hold as distance and the other simply never thought of it, a two-minute conversation fixes months of guessing.
If you recognize yourself as a hopeless romantic, you'll like our page on dating for hopeless romantics. If you're planning something, our first date ideas are built around real connection, not just a table for two.
How the app goes deeper than this quiz
Inside Naughty Singles, these categories are part of your Match DNA: a profile across 40 categories, ten per intensity level. Romance and travel live in LIGHT, which is always on. Public affection and dating style live in SPICY, one of the intensity levels you choose to activate. Two people are only compared on the levels both of them picked.
The app keeps choosing the cards that reveal the most about you, and your top shows real people with a compatibility percentage, a reading per level and a note on why you'd connect. The first contact is romantic in its own way: no likes, no empty hello, just ten of your own statements sent with your photo.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I'm a romantic person?
Look at what you notice and what you miss. If small gestures, shared rituals, handwritten notes or long dates matter to you, and their absence feels like distance, you're probably a romantic. Romance isn't only grand gestures: remembering details and choosing someone's company on an ordinary day is romantic too. This quiz helps you see which forms matter most to you.
Can a romantic date someone who isn't very romantic?
Yes, often very well. Compatible isn't identical. What matters is that the less expressive person understands what gestures mean to the romantic one, and the romantic one recognizes love in quieter forms. Problems usually come from unspoken expectations, not from different styles. Talking early about how you each show affection saves a lot of guesswork.
Is public affection a compatibility issue?
It can be. For some people, holding hands in public is a natural way to say we're together; for others it feels exposed. Neither is wrong. In Naughty Singles, public affection is a category of the SPICY level, so if you both activate it, it becomes part of how your compatibility is read.
Does this romance quiz save my answers?
No. It runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and forgets everything when you close the page. It's a quick, private reflection. The full version lives inside the app, where your answers build your Match DNA and connect you with real people who share your way of loving.
