Relationship values test
This relationship values test goes to the questions that usually arrive too late: what you won't compromise on, what family means to you, how you see money and what love looks like on an ordinary Tuesday. Eleven cards, three honest answers and a short reading of where you stand.
Chemistry gets people together. Shared values are what tend to keep them there. Knowing yours clearly is one of the kindest things you can do for your future self, and for whoever you meet next.

What this relationship values test measures
The cards cover four categories from the LIGHT level, the part of Naughty Singles that's always on. Beliefs and values: your principles and how steady they are. Family: what place family, and possibly kids, has in your plans. Money and ambition: time versus earnings, meaning versus status. Romance: how you show that something is serious.
These are the categories where differences are hardest to negotiate later. You can learn to enjoy a partner's taste in music; it's much harder to meet halfway on whether to have children. If that's a central question for you, we cover it in depth in family and kids compatibility.
How to read your values result
Each category gets its own reading. Mostly ME TOO shows a value you hold firmly and will want a partner to share. Mostly NOT ME shows the opposite position, held just as firmly, and that's equally worth knowing. A mix, or DON'T CARE, means that topic is open for you: you can build something with people on either side of it.
Remember that compatible isn't identical. Two people can have different beliefs and a great relationship, as long as the things that are non-negotiable for each of them don't collide. That's the real question behind any values test: not whether you agree on everything, but whether your core commitments can live side by side. Our page on shared values compatibility goes deeper, and if you're writing your own list, the guide to relationship deal breakers helps you separate preferences from limits.
Three things a values test can help you see
Your real non-negotiables
Some values feel important until you imagine living without them. Others turn out to be truly fixed. The cards make that difference visible.
Where you're flexible
DON'T CARE answers aren't indifference. They show the areas where you can welcome someone different, which widens your options without lowering your standards.
What to say early
Values are awkward to bring up on a first date. Knowing yours makes it easier to mention them naturally, before feelings make every difference harder.
How the app goes deeper than this test
In the app, these four categories are part of your Match DNA, a compatibility profile across 40 categories, ten for each intensity level. Now and then a card lets you mark your answer as a deal breaker or as something you can live with. If two people's deal breakers clash, they don't appear in each other's top, so the hardest conversations are partly handled before you ever meet.
During onboarding you also say what you're looking for: a relationship, dating, something casual or exploring. That choice doesn't filter who you see. What tends to support a serious relationship is compatibility in exactly these areas, values, family and romance, and that's what the matching reads.
Frequently asked questions
What are the most important values in a relationship?
There's no universal list, but the ones that tend to matter most are honesty, how you see family and children, your relationship with money and time, and what commitment means to you. These are hard to change and shape daily decisions. A relationship values test helps you notice which of them are firm for you and which are open to conversation.
Can a couple with different values work?
Yes, if the differences don't touch what's essential for either person. Many couples hold different beliefs and respect them well. Trouble usually starts when one person's non-negotiable is the other's opposite, for example on having kids. Compatible isn't identical: the goal is to share the core, not every opinion.
When should I talk about values when dating someone new?
Earlier than feels comfortable, but naturally. You don't need a questionnaire on the first date, but topics like kids or lifestyle priorities are worth raising within the first few conversations. In Naughty Singles part of that work happens before you meet, because compatibility in these categories is already part of your match.
Is this values test saved anywhere?
No. It runs in your browser, with no sign-up, and your answers disappear when you close the page. It's a short, private reflection. If you want a values profile that stays with you and matches you with real people, that happens inside the app, where it becomes part of your Match DNA.
