HOT: the dating app level for sexual compatibility, with elegance
HOT is the level where Naughty Singles becomes a dating app with sexual compatibility, measured with discretion. It looks at desire, rhythm, energy, curiosity and fantasies, always with respect as the frame. It's the third of the four intensity levels and it's 100% opt-in: if you don't choose it, you never see a single HOT card.
In your results it becomes the Desire gem. And because intimacy matters, HOT weighs more in your compatibility score than the everyday levels.
Why sexual compatibility matters when dating
Ask people why a promising relationship faded and many will talk about timing, distance or life plans. Ask a little more and a quieter reason often appears: they never quite met in private. One wanted more closeness, the other less. One loved to explore, the other preferred the familiar. Nobody was wrong. They simply moved at different rhythms, and nobody said so early because it felt too soon to talk about it.
That is exactly the conversation most dating apps leave for later, when feelings and time are already invested. HOT brings it forward, without making it awkward. You don't write anything, describe anything or expose anything. You answer short cards privately, and the app compares your sense of desire with that of people who chose the same level.
Intimate compatibility is not the whole story, and the app doesn't pretend it is. But for many singles it's a real part of what makes a relationship work, casual or serious. Knowing early that you share an energy, or that you don't, saves both people from guessing.
What the HOT level explores
HOT has 10 categories, like every level. Rather than list them one by one, here is the territory they cover together: your style in intimacy, the rhythm and energy you enjoy, the place fantasies have in your life, how much the visual side of desire matters to you and how you feel about playfulness and roles.
The cards are written the same way as the rest of the app: short first-person statements, elegant rather than graphic. They ask how you feel about something, never what you've done or with whom. You answer ME TOO, DON'T CARE or NOT ME, and DON'T CARE is a perfectly valid answer: indifference is information too.
None of it is a test you can fail. There are no better or worse answers in HOT, only answers that match someone else's or don't. A calm, tender energy is as valid as an adventurous one. What the level looks for is two people whose desires point in the same direction.
Opt-in, private and only between people who chose it
HOT is built around three guarantees. They are not settings you have to find; they're how the level works.
100% opt-in
You pick your maximum level during onboarding. If you stop at LIGHT or SPICY, HOT doesn't exist for you: no cards, no gem, no comparison. It's never switched on by default.
Private by design
Nobody sees your individual answers. They shape your compatibility profile, and the comparison runs on the server. Another person's profile never reaches your phone, and yours never reaches theirs.
Only with people who chose it
Your HOT answers are compared only with people who also activated HOT. Someone who stopped at SPICY is compared with you on LIGHT and SPICY, and nothing else.
You choose what you share
In first contact you pick 10 of your own statements to send. One can come from HOT, and only if the other person also plays HOT. What you share is always your decision.
Why HOT weighs more in your score
Inside the levels two people share, the more intimate ones carry more weight. That's a deliberate choice. Two people can be identical in daily life and opposite in desire, and averaging those two facts would hide the one that matters most in private. So the app does something more honest: the weakest shared level pulls the total down instead of being diluted.
In practice, a pair that shines in LIGHT and SPICY but clashes in HOT won't show a misleadingly high percentage. And a pair that matches in HOT will see it reflected clearly. You can read the whole logic, calmly explained, in Match DNA.
This also works the other way. If HOT isn't part of what you want to be measured on, don't activate it: your score will be calculated on the levels you chose, without penalty.
Reading the Desire gem
When you share HOT with someone, their gem shows one of three readings:
Same energy
Your sense of desire points the same way. Similar rhythm, similar curiosity, similar idea of what feels good. A promising sign, especially paired with a good Chemistry gem.
Good rhythm
Mostly in tune, with a few differences you'd discover together. Plenty of room to meet in the middle when there's trust and conversation.
Different rhythms
Your energies differ in several categories. Not a judgment on either of you, just honest information to consider before the first date rather than after the fifth.
Who the HOT level is for
HOT is for adults who see intimacy as part of compatibility and would rather know early. It fits people looking for something casual, where energy is central, and people looking for something serious, who know that a relationship without that connection rarely lasts. If you want to understand this idea in depth, read about sexual compatibility before dating.
It's also for people who find it hard to bring up the subject in person. The cards do the first part of that conversation for you, quietly. When it's time to talk face to face, our guide on how to talk about desires with someone new helps you do it with care.
And it's fine if HOT is not for you. Plenty of singles prefer to keep dating free of that layer, and the app is designed so they never have to see it. If that's you, you might like our page about a dating app without sexual content. If you want to go further still, EXTREME is the next level, and it's just as optional.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a dating app that checks sexual compatibility?
Naughty Singles includes it as an optional level called HOT. It compares desire, rhythm, energy and fantasies through short, elegant statements you answer privately. It's only active if you choose it, and it's only compared with people who also chose it. The result appears as a Desire gem next to the other levels.
Are HOT questions explicit?
No. HOT cards are written as short, elegant first-person statements about how you feel, not descriptions of practices. They ask about rhythm, energy, curiosity and fantasies in a tasteful way. You answer ME TOO, DON'T CARE or NOT ME, and nobody else sees your individual answers.
Who can see my HOT answers?
Nobody. Your answers build your compatibility profile, and the comparison runs on the server; another person's profile never reaches your phone. Others only see a compatibility percentage and a gem reading. The only HOT statement someone might see from you is one you choose to send in first contact, if they also play HOT.
Why does HOT count more than other levels?
Because intimate compatibility is harder to fix later and easy to hide in an average. The more intimate levels carry more weight, and the weakest shared level pulls the total down. That way, being identical in daily life can't mask a real mismatch in desire. If you don't activate HOT, it doesn't count at all.
Can I use Naughty Singles without the HOT level?
Yes. HOT is completely optional. You choose your maximum level at the start, and if you stay at LIGHT or SPICY you'll never see a HOT card. Your compatibility is then calculated only on the levels you chose, without any penalty.
